"Practical Magic" is kind of the perfect example for how these sequels rest on the laurels of their performers, and the audience’s relationship to those performers, and squeak by on everything else. |

Practical Magic 2 is little more than reheated nostalgia bait, though Warner Bros. would like to pass it off as a worthy successor. |

Instead, it feels like a pale imitation, desperately trying to recapture a heady experience by any means necessary. Instead of magic, we get chaos. |

It’s about the only thing that feels alive in this limp follow up. |
